Hi nadzia, Thank you for the comment. If Rand was familiar with the TANAKH or Torah, she never mentioned it in anything she wrote, including her notes and correspondence. It does not mean she wasn't of course. I do agree with you that the teachings of both the Old Testament and New Testament have been completely twisted. I've studied both for most of my 70 years and do not recognize either in any theology or modern day perversions of them. Thanks for the comments. Regi |
| nadzia, 1/21/10 08:19:49 PM (#51_1) | Mr. Firehammer. Think of Ayn Rand as a Jew who may have been secular but she did know what was taught in the TANAKH(OLD TESTAMENT). I have no problem following the Philosophy of Objectivism even though I am was is called a religious Jew. At this time when one talks like an Ayn Rand it is considered being very harsh and uncaring, etc.. Where did the so called Christians get this nonsense about altruism? You cannot study the New Testament alone and follow its precepts without going back and studying the Old Testament. In no way does the Old Testament teach altruism, collectivism, socialism or any other isms. People have made the Bible out of rubber and have stretched out the worst horrors for man.
