The ARI Bully
I've already addressed the
ARI kindergarten squabble over various individual's appreciation, or lack thereof, concerning David Harriman's book which presented the "Objectivist" solution to the non-existent problem of, "induction," in science, no less, even though few, if any, successful scientists have ever bothered their heads about such questions. I've already said more than I care to about such childishness and would say no more except that it has, in a very minor way, affected me personally.
While working on some new WEB pages I'm developing, on which I intended to provide a link to a source for, "The Objectivist Research CD-ROM," developed and provided by the Oliver Computing LLC Co, I made a disappointing discovery. This CD has every major published and unpublished work of Ayn Rand, with the exception of some of her journals, and other minor sources. It is also searchable and an invaluable tool for anyone interested in serious research related to Rand's Objectivism.
According to Oliver Computing's WEB page, Objectivism.net, the, "Objectivist Research CD-ROM," has been
discontinued and that discontinuation is related to the resignation of Dr. John McCaskey from the board of ARI.
Robert Tracinski's, "Anthemgate: The Objectivist Movement Commits Suicide," a commentary on the McCaskey resignation I mentioned in my earlier article includes this:
"It was also at about this time, if I recall, that Phil Oliver, an Objectivist who put in an enormous amount of work to compile a searchable CD-ROM of Ayn Rand's writings, was denied an extension of his license to produce the CD specifically because Phil had criticized David Harriman's writings on science in Internet discussion groups."
Apparently the vengeance of this pickle-pussed Peikoff knows no bounds, and he is willing to have anything of value to anyone eliminated to demonstrate his "power" of determining what is of value and what is not. Here is his outrageous "explanation" of his irrationality "Peikoff vs. an ARI Board Member."
Now I personally have no interest in the rantings and ravings of these children, but I am disappointed that these
DIM-wits have been able to remove a very useful tool from the market, which no one at ARI could produce in a million years, but was produced by a real creator.
[Note: Leonard Peikoff says, "To save the world is the simplest thing in the world. All one has to do is think." Well, I guess he didn't—think that is, since the world sure looks like it's going to hell faster than it ever has—and looking closely there is someone leading the way that looks very much like Peikoff carrying a banner that says, "It's Simple," or "I'm Simple." I can't quite make it out.]
The Real Producer
By way of contrast, ask yourself how much anything produced by the current crop of ARI writers and babblers will be worth in 20 years. Now compare what the works of the real creator they are all exploiting are worth. Look at the prices for these
works by Ayn Rand.
Not everyone has the advantage of owning the works of a dead genius to exploit but there other ways for the phonies to make a fast buck.
I've updated and old article from the old Autonomist, "The Secret Key to Everything," which I've published today, about one of the most profitable scams around. Even some, so-called Objectivists participate in this one.
